ANSE à LA MOUCHE |
It is situated on the south-west coast of the Mahé Island. A large, tranquil bay with shallow and crystal clear water. Swimming in this bay is very safe and suitable for children as the water there stays shallow even with incoming tides and there are no strong currents. |

ANSE AUX PINS AND TURTLE BAY |
This long section of the coastline passing the south-east shore of the Mahé Island, the Turtle Bay included, is known for its narrow beaches and shallow waters. With each outgoing tide one can find all kinds of sea species trapped in rock "pools". In this part of the coast, local fishermen are often seen octopus and other sea animal fishing. It is possible to swim there during incoming tides, even though the water is still quite shallow. |

ANSE BOILEAU |
It is situated on the south-west coastline. The Anse Boileau is a narrow line of sand bordering shallow water close to the main coast road. You can often see fishermen there taking out their nets full of haul. |

ANSE FORBANS | These days, the Anse Forbans beach is popular with guests of surrounding hotels. Sea swimming there is considered safe, with the exception of the south part of the beach leading to Anse Marie Louise. |

ANSE INTENDANCE | This famous beach can be found in the southern part of the Mahé Island, half a mile from a white sand beach. There is no reef there, therefore, waves are much higher than on most of the other beaches of the island. More than for swimming this beach is suitable for surfing. This beautiful beach is also popular with sun worshippers. |

ANSE MAJOR |
This distant beach is situated in the furthest north-west point of the Mahé Island and it is possible to get there either by boat or on foot taking the trail from Danzil (it takes approx. 3 hours to get there and back). Anse Major is a large sandy beach with small lagoons. The bay is safe for swimming and it is a god spot for snorkeling. Moreover, the Beau Vallon Bay is a start-up point for trips on boats with glass bottoms. |

ANSE ROYALE |
This beach is located on the south-east shore of the Mahe Island. It is a stunning spot suitable for swimming and snorkeling. The best places for snorkeling are those around the rocks of small islands close to the coastline where a vast number of colourful coral fishes live. The waters of the shore are quite shallow and closed by cliff. Thanks to this big fish does not get there. |

ANSE SOLEIL |
This "photogenic", unbelievably attractive bay with a wide sandy beach and large shade palm trees, is situated on the south-west coast of the Mahé Island. The Anse Soleil beach is suitable for swimming and snorkelling and it is a very popular spot for weekend picnics. |

ANSE SOUILLAC | This small bay, located between the spectacular Port Launay and Baie Ternay beaches, is worth seeing. The beach surrounded by granite cliffs is often abandoned and the sea there is suitable for swimming and snorkeling. |

BAIE TERNAY |
The waters of the National Marine Park surround this untouched beach, which is a favourite spot of divers and yachtsmen. Currently, it is not possible to get there by car, as the roads leading to the beach are closed down to the public. The beach is located in an out-of-the-way corner of the island and it is full of coral sand. For those, who discover this beach, it is a true paradise. |

BEAU VALLON |
The most popular summer resort of the Mahé Island favoured by the both, tourists and locals. This bay with its white sand and crystal clear water is a safe place for swimming. A wide range of water sports and lots of diving centres attract those visitors, who want to stay active when on the Seychelles Islands. Beau Vallon is a place suitable for swimming, especially for young ones, as there are no strong currents and stone or coral formations in water there. For the safety on the beach and in the water a life guard is responsible. The best time for swimming is when the south-west winds blow as, at that time, the sea is very tranquil. |

CARANA BEACH | It is located on the north coast of the island and it is suitable for surfing and water sports. It is a large beach with trees and rocks offering shade and protection against the sun. The Canara Beach is not suitable for children since the access to the sea is steep and it is not considered suitable for swimming (it si not recommended to swim outside the designated area). |

GRAND ANSE | An impressive sandy bay on the south-west coast of the Mahé Island. Even thought, due to bottom currents and high waves, it is not suitable for swimming, it is ideal for walks. |

NORTH EAST POINT | This rocky north-east section of the coastline contrasts with tranquil sandy beaches located on the opposite side of the island. The beaches situated close to the road are narrow sections of white sand and rocks and shore reefs. There is only one or two bays suitable for swimming on this coast. The main beaches, however, are spots suitable for exploring walks. |

POLICE BAY AND PETIT POLICE | On the both sides of the south-west tip of the Mahé Island, there are two beautiful bays with waves and fine white sand. As, in the above bays, there are strong currents and they are not suitable for swimming, this distance spot is ideal for undisturbed walks and taking pictures. | |
PORT LAUNAY |
This breath-taking beach on the north-west coast of the Mahé Island is a part of the „Marine National Park“. The swimming and snorkeling in this bay is truly enjoyable. It is possible to see a wide range of colourful fish there. It is large beach with white sand and lots of palm trees creating shade. Throughout the week, it is a tranquil place. It, however, turns into a popular picnic spot at weekends. Lots of beautiful shells and coral formations can be found along the coast. As, however, this beach became a part of the National Park, the shells and coral cannot be taken from the beach. |
