Praslin Island

The second largest island of the Seychelles archipelago, the PRASLIN Island, is located 45 km south-east of the Mahé Island.  Praslin is less mountainous than Mahé (the highest hill is 350 m high), it is 10 km long, 3.7 km wide and the main income of its 6,500 inhabitants comes from tourism and fishing.  The coastline of the island is skirted by sandy beaches and coral reefs.

The beaches of the Praslin Island, such as Anse Lazio or Anse Georgette, .are truly beautiful. The above two beaches has been ranked amongst the TOP 10 most beautiful beaches in the world for quite some time.

Vallé de Mai National Park (May VAlley)

One of the two SEYCHELLES attractions, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List can be found there. It is the beautiful Vallé de Mai (May Valley) National Park and its coconut trees with unique double nuts called Coco de Mer. There are 6 different kinds of palm trees in the Vallé de Mai National Park that cannot be found anywhere else outside the archipelago and it is the home to the rare Black Parrot and scarce sea birds.

Tourism is the main source of income for the local people living on the island. There are many accommodation facilities there. The Praslin Island is, at the same time, a start-up point of trips exploring the islands around it.  If you want to explore the island by car it will take you no more than two hours.
